Jackie is an elderly woman who is 85years; she suffers from dementia and lives in Glory residential home. She has 15,000 in her bank account. She has a personal carer called Andrew, Andrew supports her in all her financial aspects example shopping for her, housing rents, bills, withdrawing and depositing in her account, travelling etc. Whenever Jackie asks Andrew to withdraw 100 from her account Andrew decides to take 1,000 instead of the 100. He takes advantage of Ms Jackies health condition to get her money often. Jackie decided to take along 2,500 with her but only spent 500, Andrew took the remaining 2,000. When he travelled to Spain with her support worker she found out that he has been stealing from the client. Andrews manager is now doing the updates from their trip; the manager finds out that there was missing updates from the receipt which was brought back from their trip. Meeting was held by the by the manager which included the social worker for Jackie, the police and other people involved in Jackies care. Mrs Jackie voice was heard and everything she bought from her trip was shown to the manager therefore they knew Andrew had been stealing from Mrs Jackie. In this case safeguarding of the vulnerable items and possession was not protected and Andrew was arrested.
