This module aims to develop your evaluation of business issues from the perspective of change, to further progress your critical thinking skills, the application of independent judgement, and your ability to make a well-reasoned arguments and synthesise practicable solutions.
This includes:
Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to make decisions in situations of high complexity
Critical evaluation of theory in the light of research and practice
An appreciation of the inter-relationship between the human and technical aspects of change
3. Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the module, students will be expected to be able to:
a) Assess the case for change using open systems theory, taking into account the perspectives of relevant stakeholders affected by the change;
b) Evaluate sustainable change plans and assess their impact at the individual, team and organisational levels;
c) Analyse change situations using relevant concepts, models and techniques, evaluating the likely effectiveness and ethical implications of different change management interventions;
d) Critically reflect upon personal reactions to change and how this might impact future management and leadership roles.
