Once you have read the chapter content and conducted some additional research using academic journals. You need to Interview someone within knowledge of the topic. Choose someone who is willing to spend some time talking to you. Prepare to ask them five questions, on one of your chosen topics.
Be prepared to ask a lot of follow-up questions but make it clear at the beginning that your interviewee doesnt have to tell you anything that they would rather keep private. Again, be professional and dont be pushy. It is important to be respectful of the interviewees time. Make sure that you are prepared for the interview in advance. Dont plan on just making up questions as you go! Your interviewee might also want to see a list of the questions in advance, and this is a reasonable request. You should also tell the interviewee that you are willing to disguise their name, organization, and other personal details, and that only you and your instructor will see the report. Tell the interviewee that they are welcome to contact me if they have any concerns and give them the appropriate contact information.
You may use some of the questions provided at end of the chapters if that helps. For example, what is his or her leadership style? What is his or her attitude to his or her organization or job? What organizational citizenship behaviours has he or she engaged in? Can you observe any individual characteristics (e.g., personality, self-efficacy) that are relevant to his or her success?
Supplement your understanding of the concepts that you discuss with reference to at least five additional academic sources. You need to include at least five different articles in your reference list (you can cite the textbook or any other sources you like, but they wont count towards your five). I recommend using one of the Capilano University Library databases, such as Business Source Complete, rather than Google. A search by subject, keywords, or author name will usually yield much better results than searching through the internet.
